This one day undertow is aimed at people, owner managers or key staff, who may not have taken their merchantry online and are interested in exploring the potential of social media as a trademark towers and marketing mechanism for their business. On completion of this programme, participants will have the knowledge to decide what social media platforms are suited to their merchantry needs and the skill to take their merchantry onto Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.  This undertow will demonstrate the nuts of setting up social media finance for business. The forfeit of the undertow is €60 and the trainer is Michael Keogh of The Entrepreneurs Academy.       Positive Ageing Week Plans are coming together for Arklow Positive Ageing Week 2018 with an variety of heady events scheduled to take place.  This year’s event runs from Friday 28th September to Monday 15th October and the official launch takes place in Arklow Library.  The launch will get under way at 2 p.m. and will set the tone for a wonderful schedule with events for all tastes.         Autumn Art Exhibition Arklow Visual Arts Gallery is holding its first Autumn Art exhibition.  The exhibition opens on Tuesday evening, September 18th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will run until Friday, September 28th. Seven local artists are participating in the show featuring paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolour, mixed media and wood creations.  The artists are Mary Mitchell, Helen Hiney, David Owens, Tony Byrne, Michael Sheehan, Masie Dillon and Patrick Power. Ticketis self-ruling and all are welcome.               The Style Edit with Judy Gilroy Fresh from presenting our Fabulous FashionFull-lengthon weekend AM Judy Gilroy will join us at Bridgewater Shopping Centre on Saturday 6th October from 2-4 PM. This promises to be a unconfined night of fun, malleate and food.  All are welcome to shepherd to help gloat this milestone.               The Bank of Ireland National Enterprise Town Awards 2018 The 2018 Bank of Ireland National Enterprise Town Awards is now in its third year. The competition promotes enterprise by bringing merchantry and polity groups together, in towns and villages wideness Ireland, to showcase the spirit of enterprise in their local area. Arklow was nominated for the competition in the population category greater than 10,000. This was a fantastic opportunity for the Arklow Town Team to highlight recent and forthcoming initiatives for enterprise within the town. During the visit to Arklow on the 25th of September, three judges met with representatives from the merchantry and polity sectors of the town and received a presentation highlighting the positive nature of the area. Winners will be spoken at a gala awards recurrence taking place at The Lyrath Hotel, Kilkenny on November 28, 2018.         September 21, 2018 Arklow This Week 21st September 2018 Arklow & District Chamber Awards The Arklow Chamber of Commerce President Mr Donal Murray was delighted to welcome over 230 people to the Chamber Ball &MerchantryAwards event in the Arklow Bay Hotel on Friday the 14th September. The awards recognize local people and businesses and their achievements in a number of categories.  Three nominees have been chosen in each category and the overall winner will be revealed on the night without the self-sustaining judging panel has completed its deliberations. Also on the night the 2018 ‘Person of the Year’ ribbon will be presented to well known Arklow athlete and hero Mary Hickey. Tickets for this black-tie event misogynist from the Arklow Chamber office at 0402 26909 or email chamber@arklow.ie at a forfeit of €60 or a table of 10 for €550.                   Arklow United Football Club launches massive Lip Sync Fundraiser Arklow United FC, as part of their 40th Anniversary celebrations, has spoken details of their largest overly fundraiser, at a launch in the Harbour Bar this week. Arklow United Lip Sync takes place on Saturday 13th October in the Arklow Bay Hotel and will see up to 12 acts rival it out on stage to take the first overly Lip Sync Legend title. Proceeds of the event will go towards grounds minutiae at Ferndale Park, and a proportion will be divided between two local charities Arklow Cancer Support and ArklowPolityAction Resource Centre. Sunbeam artists for Arklow exhibition A group of artists from Sunbeam House Services who work in a variety of art mediums from painting, felting, pyrography, print, upcycling textiles and embroidery are exhibiting in The Arklow Gallery from Tuesday September 4 until Friday September 14.
